Argenina. Our tips

AUTHOR'S RECOMMENDATIONS

a journey told through our eyes

Welcome to a space we created for sharing and discovery. In this section of our website, Stefania’s curiosity meets Gabriele’s attentive eye — together, they shape a kind of storytelling that goes beyond pointing at things on a map. We believe a place is made not just of coordinates, but of atmospheres, silences, and those details that tend to escape anyone in too much of a hurry to arrive.

Here we collect our thoughts and suggestions born directly from the road, offering you a compass through the lesser-known and the well-loved, revisited with fresh eyes. No impersonal guides — just an honest account of what moved us: from the hidden gems of ancient villages to paths that carry the scent of history and nature.

Every article is an invitation to slow down and experience the land with intention, guided not only by maps but by instinct and the pleasure of the unexpected. We hope our recommendations spark your next adventure and help you build an itinerary that is not just a route, but a collection of moments worth keeping.

One fair warning: the only risk here is not wanting to leave. Our recommendations are road-tested and guaranteed against disappointment.

my favourite walk

on foot through the vineyards, without hurry

Leave the car in the car park today. I'd like to suggest a circular walk starting from Argenina — perfect for taking in the scent of the earth and the silence of the vines. Put on a comfortable pair of shoes, fill a flask with cold water, and follow my lead.

chianti handmade

a journey through workshops, looms and authentic flavours

If you think Chianti is just wine, prepare to reconsider. There is a slower itinerary — one made of clay dust, silk threads and the scent of finocchiona — that will lead you to discover the artisan soul of this land. The starting point for this remarkable day is right here: leave the tranquillity of Borgo Argenina behind you and get ready to meet the people who create extraordinary things with their hands. Comfortable shoes, an open mind, and off we go.

bags in the room, glass in hand

your survival kit for the Chianti

Welcome to Argenina! If you're reading this, it means you made it: you are finally in the heart of Chianti Classico. You're probably a little tired from the journey, hair ruffled by the hill breeze, with an overwhelming urge to drop the bags and get on with the real business — namely, a proper glass of wine. To spare you the "so, where do we go?" panic, we've put together four unmissable stops just around the corner, perfect for your first day.

a dip in the blue

Punta Ala, my favourite place

Just for today, you have my blessing to betray our beloved vineyards in favour of a little sea breeze — and I have the perfect plan. I'm not sending you just anywhere, but to my favourite place: Punta Ala. You should know that our grandmother Maria has a house right there, where we spent every summer as children. The moment school ended, the ritual began: from June to September we lived in near-total symbiosis with the sea. They were the best years — endless days, running on the sand, and that absolute freedom that only childhood summers can give you.
